If you’re looking for evidence of growth and vitality at Southampton, look no further than the tennis courts! It’s been an exciting year of expansion for us, and we can only hope that 2011 will bring many new and returning faces to the courts. Thanks to the cooperative efforts of Lynn Bybee, Dexter Brown, Eric Gobble and Trinity Episcopal School, we now have nine courts. If you have a moment, walk up to the upper courts and admire the beautiful green and blue that now defines the courts up there. This amazing alliance with Trinity has given us the opportunity to grow our programs and expand our teams.
    We were also able to be good neighbors to Ridgetop Recreation Association by allowing them to play their home matches for the Ladies Suburban League weekday mornings this spring. All of their courts are being re-done and they look forward to reclaiming the home-court advantage in May.
    We are truly blessed to have Lynn Bybee in his third year as our tennis pro at SRA. We depend on Lynn for virtually every aspect of our tennis program, and his help is invaluable. We are moving towards a court reservation system so that you can sign up/see when courts are available. Stay tuned.
