Tennis News!

We’ve got great things going on in SRA tennis this year! Get some friendly practice in at our monthly tennis socials, hone your skills in one of our classes or camps, or indulge your inner competitor by joining one of our leagues.

Pro Lynn Bybee is Back!
Lynn Bybee brings experience, expertise and excitement to the SRA tennis program. He has been teaching tennis for over 25 years; for the past 10 years, he has been tennis director at Willow Oaks Country Club. Lynn is also an accomplished player who has qualified twice for the Senior Tour—along with McEnroe, Connors and Borg. In his age group, Lynn has been ranked as high as fourth in the U.S. and has also won a national doubles title.
Lynn looks forward to meeting everyone and continuing to build the tennis program at SRA. Please take advantage of some of his great classes, details of which you’ll find in the following pages.

Tennis Socials

In keeping with a tradition of many years, we will again hold tennis socials this year. We meet on the lower courts one Sunday a month at 2:30 p.m. for round-robin tennis; a social hour at 5 p.m. and potluck supper at 6 p.m. follow, rain or shine. All levels are welcome; our emphasis is on having fun and building our tennis community at SRA. Our next social is scheduled for April 25. Please RSVP to hosts Claude and Nancy Raible (272-7475). For questions, contact Sara Brown (405-7171) or Nancy Raible (272-7475).

Looking for Something Else?

Lynn is also available to schedule other clinics and private lessons for both adults and children. For more information, please contact Lynn directly (516-5096 or lynnandmelissa@verizon.net).

Tennis Leagues

SRA tennis continues to grow, with great options for players of all levels. Don’t miss our socials (p. 9) for some friendly round-robin, but if you’re looking for a little competition, we’ve got that for you, too. See the "leagues" link.

                        General Information

Guest Fees

Guests may play tennis with a member for $3. This is an honor system; please mail your guest fees to the office, or drop them by when the office is open.

Ball Machine

The ball machine is ready for the season! The machine is for use by SRA members only. Balls are provided.

Racquet Stringing

Been a while since you dusted off that racquet? Drop it with Lynn Bybee, and he’ll be happy to restring it for you. The cost depends on the type of strings you want but generally runs $20-35. If perchance you still have a wooden racquet, you might want to consult with Lynn about the latest advances in tennis technology. Contact Lynn at 516-5096 or lynnandmelissa@verizon.net.
