
2011 Swim Team Coaching Staff
Head Coach Mike Peters returns to Southampton for his ninth season. A native New Yorker and graduate of Brown University, Mike competed on a national level on the Brown swim team and has coached on the high school, college and US Swimming levels. Mike is a teacher at Jackson David Elementary School and an assistant coach for the Collegiate swim team.
Anne Byrd Mahoney returns as an Assistant Coach for her third season. Anne Byrd began swimming for Southampton at five years old. A rising junior at Washington and Lee University, she is majoring in Biology and Spanish.
Dillon Hatch returns as an Assistant Coach. Dillon is a longtime Southampton swimmer who also swam for Poseidon and on the Fork Union Military Academy team. He is a rising sophomore at Bridge-water College, studying History and Political Science.
Austin Bridgforth rejoins the coaching staff in mid-June. A longtime Southampton swimmer, Austin was a coach here for five years. She’s a graduate of William and Mary and is currently studying to be a physical therapist at VCU.
Well Bridgforth is a new addition to our coaching staff. Wells is a current and longtime member of the swim team. He also swims for Trinity Episcopal School, where he is a rising senior, and the Richmond Racers. He worked as an Assistant Coach at Willow Oaks Country Club last summer.
Paul Ream will assist the team at the beginning of the summer. A rising senior at Davidson College, Paul will be studying in Washington, D.C., for the majority of the season but has graciously agreed to help with the swim team when he is available.
