Our ever popular hockey clinic for ages 7-13.
Boys and Girls ages 7 to 13. Our sole purpose is to introduce the fun and thrill of skating and icehockey to our participants in an organized, controlled manner, with an emphasis on fun. Many in ourgroup have never skated before, which is just fine. We all fall down, but the difference is, we have pads on. So when we get up, we laugh and try again. The thrill of gliding on ice produces memories that last a lifetime.

Private Lessons

We also offer the option of private lessons with our coaches during dedicated freestyle times.  Coach’s fees are by arrangement with the coach.  Register for private lessons at the Lesson Sign-Ups or contact Ice Director Darla Toler (

Note: all lessons are subject to cancellation or consolidation if lessons do not reach
minimum enrollment. We will endeavor to schedule make-up lessons in the event of
cancellation for weather or instructor illness.

Ice Socials
An ice social is a time for members to get together at the rink to enjoy skating, music, hot cocoa, and snacks. It’s a great way to get a winter boost of SRA spirit! Hot chocolate and popcorn are provided. Skaters are asked to bring a treat or some type of snack to share at the refreshment table. Mark your calendars and join us at the rink for our upcoming ice socials:

Ice Revue
The annual Ice Revue is scheduled for Saturday March 3, 2012 from 7 - 9 pm. This is a fun filled event that allows our skaters to show off what they have learned this season in lessons. A dinner gathering is scheduled before the show from 5 - 7 pm. Families, guests, and ALL SRA members are invited to attend. It is a wonderful night of SRA entertainment that is sure to warm your heart! Please join us this year to help cheer on all of our wonderful SRA skaters!

Newsletters & Email Distribution Lists
SRA mails a newsletter to the membership in October, January and April. However, much our news is announced via email. Currently, we run one general information mailing list and program-specific lists for swim team and ice news. If you are not receiving our emails, please let Phil Hunnicutt know at phunnicutt@collegiate-va.org. Phil will send you an invitation to join, from google groups to get you started.
