Message from the President

If it’s spring time, it’s pool time. With spring time here, the pool will open soon. During the spring and summer, SRA has many activities for kids and kids at heart.

Inside this newsletter, you’ll learn more about SRA’s swim team, tennis program, summer day camps, social events and other ways to enjoy SRA.

The swim team will again be led by Mike Peters and supported by his assistant coaches Ashley Tremper, Wells Bridgforth, Claire Hatch and Peter Ferguson. The swim team will soon be practicing, in hopes for their 13th consecutive JRAC championship win. The swim team includes our young members ages 5-18. In addition, we offer a Beginner Swim Clinic for ages 4-10 led by George Moore. Our pool management company, VSCM, also offers swim lessons.

The tennis program continues to grow under the leadership of Lynn Bybee. Lynn is the tennis pro at Midlothian Atlantic Club, and we are fortunate to have him lead SRA’s program as well.

Our social directors are planning a number of exciting events. Plans are underway for a Memorial Day weekend Pig Pickin’ as well as the Annual Crab Feast. (Vegetarian choices will be available for these events, if requested.) More details to follow on these events, as well as others.

You’ll notice a few new upgrades to the facility as the Board continues to explore ways to improve SRA. We’ll keep you posted on other developments in the coming months; don't forget to check the web site for periodic updates.

On behalf of your Board, we thank you for being a member at Southampton. The Board works year round to make SRA an enjoyable experience. Please take time to introduce yourself to the various board members and provide us with your input and feedback.

                                                                                                Go, SRA!

                                                                                                Joe Wiggins, President
